RED RIBBON WEEK

It's RED RIBBON WEEK starting tomorrow! The theme for this year is "Send a Message. Stay Drug Free." Join us in speaking out about healthy choices!
Tuesday, October 29th: Compliment Day – A compliment has a powerful effect. It can instill confidence in a child or validate someone’s hard work. A compliment not only improves the receiver’s mood, but it also says something about the giver. It tells them you noticed. Whether we recognize someone’s achievements or their classic style, a compliment can go a long way.  Students and faculty will have the opportunity to give each other compliments using sticky notes. The compliments are then placed on the “Wall of Wonder” that will be up in the school’s main hallway. Students and faculty who receive a compliment, pass a compliment on to someone else. This activity will go on all week.  (Parents can also participate in this activity as they visit the school).
Wednesday, October 30th: Sign the Red Ribbon Week Pledge- display it somewhere in your home.
Thursday, October 31st: Wear your Halloween costumes and “Scare away Drugs!”
Friday, November 1st: Wear Red to show your support for Red Ribbon Week (a t-shirt, red socks, a red ribbon, red shoes, anything red!)
In addition to the school activities throughout the week, there will also be a prize drawing on Friday, November 1st.  To enter, please do the optional learning activities for students and parents, and return the cut out tickets to the school by Friday morning. (See the RED RIBBON WEEK packet sent home with your child.) The purpose of these activities is to enhance students understanding of Red Ribbon Week and to provide a platform for family discussions. The prize raffle for the optional activities will take place Friday, Nov. 1st at 1:00 PM.
